Foul Play Suspected In Missing Kan. Woman

Atchison County Sheriff's officials suspect foul play in the case of a woman missing since Friday.

Sheriff's officials said Patricia Kimmi, 58, of Horton, Kan., was last heard from on Friday evening and reported missing on Saturday. After the missing person report, Sheriff's officials said they found evidence of foul play at Kimmi's home.

"There are some indications that she was forcefully removed from her home sometime in the time frame between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday evening," Atchison County Sheriff John Calhoon said.

Law enforcement and volunteers have combed an eight-mile radius from Kimmi's home on 326th Street in rural Atchison County looking for the woman or any evidence.

Kimmi's ex-husband has been questioned by law enforcement officials, but nobody has been arrested or charged in Kimmi's disappearance. The two divorced in March 2008.

"We're not at the point where we have any solid suspects," Calhoon said. "In other words, anyone is a suspect at this time."

Kimmi's daughter, Rita Boller, said she talked to her mom at least five times a day, so she said she is worried about what happened. She said she has a message for her mother.

"Don't give up on us," Boller said. "We're not giving up on you -- we'll find her and bring her home."

Boller said her Kimmi has always been there to help.

"She would always call and say 'Do you need anything?' Stuff like that," Boller said. "It was probably just something like that."

Boller said Kimmi's disappearance has left her family with a number of unanswered questions.

"You have to keep the faith and keep going and that's what we're going to do," Boller said. "We're not going to stop."

Calhoon said they don't know when anyone last saw Kimmi. A Horton business surveillance camera caught Kimmi driving through town around 5:15 p.m. Friday.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the Atchison County Communication Center at 913-367-4323.
