INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A 16-year-old girl died in a wreck just before midnight on Halloween in Independence, Mo.

The accident happened near 24 Highway and Davis Road.

Police said a Chevy Malibu was driving the wrong way down 24 Highway when it slammed into a Dodge Neon. The 16-year-old was in the Neon and died at the scene. Three other teens were also hurt in the crash.

The 19-year-old driver of the Malibu was treated at the hospital and later taken into custody. Police think alcohol was involved in the crash.
