GM Fairfax Plant Celebrates Building Lacrosse

The General Motors Fairfax plant is celebrating the production of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse at its plant beginning Monday.

The midsize car has been redesigned and GM said they hope the new car will compete with brands like Lexus.

The Lacrosse is one of several new models GM is rolling out and the automaker said it hopes the new updates will fuel new interest and get people buying cars again.

GM went through bankruptcy over the summer and shed four brands from under its umbrella. It also shut down several plants.

The Fairfax plant also makes the Chevrolet Malibu. GM officials said the plant could add a third shift in January as demand grows for both models.
