LENEXA, Kan. -- An Lenexa Mexican restaurant that was shut down after more than 15 people got sick while eating at the restaurant reopened Wednesday night.The Kansas Department of Agriculture had suspended Mi Ranchito, 13000 West 95th St., but officials will the department said that the restaurant had passed a health inspection and employees had passed a safety test. The restaurant opened for dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday.The restaurant had 100 percent compliance with the health inspection and employees all passed a "First Training" test that goes over food safety and the correct handling of food.Kansas Department of Agriculture officials said they are still investigating the official cause of the sickness and toxicology results might still be more than two weeks away.Mi Ranchito has stated that a reaction between carbonated water and copper tubing was the cause of the sickness. Owners said a backup in a tube had caused the issue, but that a plumber had fixed the problem.
