A fire late Monday night in Edwardsville forced two businesses to close.

The fire was at 10953 Kaw Drive, where the Wrap Factory and KC Custom Design and Lighting are located.

Employees told fire officials gas had spilled on the ground and ignited, which started a much larger fire.

Fire officials said the structure and contents of the building were damaged, which could amount to more than $800,000 in losses. Reports said the fire could be one of the largest in years in Edwardsville.

An employee and a firefighter suffered some minor injuries during the fire, fire officials said.
