LAWRENCE, Kan. -- From the outside, the Sigma Nu fraternity house at the University of Kansas looks peaceful. But even with the fraternity members gone for the summer and the house empty, some say there are noises in the old house that aren't normal."Moaning," said fraternity alum Don Raidt. "Somebody trying to alert somebody in the physical world."The legend of the house dates back to the early 1900s. As legend has it, a mistress of the former governor, Walter Stubbs, committed suicide inside the house. The fraternity moved in later, and since then members have reported hearing the noises.Last weekend, a paranormal team from Kansas City walked the halls of the fraternity house carrying equipment to look for what they described as "different energies." The results are still being processed.
