Sources Say Neighbors Testify Before Clay County Grand Jury

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Sources say that neighbors of Shon Pernice, whose wife, Renee, has been missing for seven months and is assumed dead, were called to testify before a grand jury Tuesday.Although grand jury testimony is not public record, several sources confirmed that neighbors were questioned over incidents on July 4 when Kansas City police arrested Pernice for disturbing the peace.That night neighbors said Pernice was drunk and belligerent.Pernice said on July 5 that he was the one who was attacked."I had a substance splashed across my face and it got my kids, too," Pernice said on July 5.Pernice said a neighbor threw an open container of alcohol at his car.Pernice said he called 911 because his children were in the car, but he was the one who ended up in jail.The sources said that Pernice was not in court today.
