KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A game involving Roman candles led to a garage fire at a Kansas City, Kan., duplex.

Police investigators said the tenants at the duplex were pointing the fireworks at one another and launching them when one went under the garage and lit the house on fire.

The landlord of the building does have homeowner's insurance, but the tenants did not have any insurance.

"Using the fireworks for what they're manufactured for, light them correctly a safe distance from structure vehicles or other people," Kansas City, Kan., Assistant Fire Chief Craig Duke said. "Obviously if they follow the rules, they should go off without incident."
