OLATHE, Kan. -- An Independence, Mo., man was in jail Saturday morning facing charges in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed an Olathe, Kan., woman.

Clark Montgomery, 32, has been charged in Johnson County, Kan., with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and driving with a suspended license.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said Montgomery was driving a dump truck on Kansas Highway 7 near 95th Street on Monday when he allegedly hit the back of a minivan being driven by Rita Huscher, 84.

Troopers said that the woman lost control and hit a bridge support pillar. She died from her injuries.
