KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Children's birthday cash was the target of thieves earlier this week, police said.Officers said someone broke into a home in south Kansas City, Mo., and ransacked the children's bedrooms. The thieves ripped on the 9-year-old's drawers looking for cash. They wound up taking money from a Spider-Man wallet and from a Bratz wallet owned by the kids. The crooks stole $180 in birthday money from the children, plus a plasma television, video games and a gun."My daughter cried," the homeowner said. "They had things they planned on buying with the money. To have it stolen from them -- to steal from a kid period -- is ridiculous."No arrests have been made. Police ask that anyone with information in the case should call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hot Line at 816-474-TIPS (8477), text TIP452 plus a message to CRIMES (274637) or submit a tip online at kccrimestoppers.com.
