Attorney Already Facing Heat With Federal Tax Charges

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A local law office is a total loss after a fire early Monday morning, fire crews said.When firefighters arrived at the scene about 2 a.m., they saw massive flames and a lot of smoke at the Rosie Quinn and Associates law firm building near North Fifth Street and Troup Avenue, they said.Quinn was indicted last week on federal charges of failing to pay taxes she allegedly withheld from her employees.Fire crews initially went in to fight the business fire, but were pulled out when the captain became concerned that the roof would collapse. So, they started battling the blaze from the outside.One firefighter needed medical attention at the scene for heat exhaustion. She is OK.Fire crews took a couple of hours to get the fire under control. Now, investigators will try to determine what sparked it.Investigators said the fire is considered suspicious and is still under investigation.
