OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Police spent several hours on Thursday searching a house in Overland Park, Kan., based on a call from a man in Virginia. The police executed the search warrant after they received a call from a man in Virginia who was concerned he might be the victim of Internet fraud. The police left the scene with several bags of evidence and at least one computer. They also escorted a man and woman, who live in the house, to police headquarters for questioning."He had accessed one of his accounts and noticed he had a charge on there that he didn't make," said Detective Matt Bregel of the Overland Park Police Department. "He investigated it on his own, and discovered something that had been purchased over the internet and had it delivered to this house here."Police said after getting the report they decided to search the house to see if it led to something bigger. They would not comment on any specific items that they removed from the house. All the activity did draw the attention of neighbors on the street."I was very surprised, very surprised," said neighbor Sally Melms. "I didn't know what was going on. You want to know your neighborhood is safe, and feel secure."The couple returned home late Thursday afternoon but refused to talk to reporters. Overland park police said their investigation continues.
