About 2,000 Kansas City Power and Light customers were without electricity as of 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

The homes are in eastern Jackson County in the Blue Springs and Lake Tapawingo areas of the metro. The downtown area of Blue Springs was impacted by the outage.

Outages appear to be related to damage caused by storms that rolled through the area overnight.
