OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Neighbors spent the morning Saturday remembering a neighbor who died in a house fire on Friday afternoon."He was a quiet man," said neighbor Chet Miller. "(He) spent a lot of time in the yard. "(He) liked to drive his truck and car. I'm going to miss him."Few details had emerged as investigators tried to figure out how the fatal fire began at a house near 115th Street and Grant Avenue. Firefighters responded to a 911 call at about 4 p.m. and found the garage engulfed in flames.A couple, who were driving by, had seen the flames and made the emergency call. The couple had noticed that the driver's side door of a car in garage was open. Neighbors said the fire spread quickly and it took little time to destroy the garage.Residents were saddened by the loss of neighbor in their close-knit community. They said the man who died had just retired last year.Police and fire investigators have not given out any more details about the fire.
