OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Only two tiny marks remain on his neck, but an Overland Park, Kan., man has had an experience he will not soon forget.A would-be thief used a stun gun to try to steal Carlos Neito's money while he was in the driveway of his home near 74th and Beverly streets getting ready to leave for work on Tuesday. The suspect poked Neito several times with the gun but he was protected by his shirt collar."Right away when I opened my car door I felt something on my neck," Neito said. "Like an electric shock. I thought it was my son."The thief took Neito's black bag with cash inside, but he tripped on the driveway and fell as he left the scene. The man ran away and Neito was able to recover his belongings. On Tuesday evening, Neito's wife said saw a stranger on their property who took off running when she approached him. The family is worried they are being targeted by a pair of thieves working together."The wife was watering the lawn and went around the corner and saw a stranger in the back yard," said Jim Weaver of the Overland Park Police Department. "He hurdled the fence and got out. Coincidental? Maybe. But it's suspicious."Police said the person, who was using the stun gun, appeared to be teenager. Possession of a stun gun is illegal in Overland Park.Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hot Line at 816-474-TIPS (8477), text TIP452 plus a message to CRIMES (274637) or submit a tip online at kccrimestoppers.com.
