Cleaver Announces Plan To Make Federal Building 'Green'

    UPDATED: 2:57 pm CDT May 28, 2009

The Kansas City federal building is going green.

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver announced Monday that $103 million in stimulus funds will be pumped into the Richard Bolling Federal Building on East 12th Street in Kansas City to help improve its environmental performance. About 4,500 employees work at the 1 million-square-foot downtown building, one of Kansas City's largest.

Officials said the change will create hundreds of construction jobs, and will help save money on energy bills for the building.
