Company Sells Sex Toys For 'Good Cause'

Olathe Company Says It Helps Children

An Olathe company said it sells sex toys for a good cause.

The company's Web site Sinlesstouch.com, sells adult novelties and sex games, but also raises money for children in need.

When visitors arrive at the home page they'll immediately see pictures of semi-nude couples and women in lingerie, but there's also a link to an area of the site to view children around the world that the company has adopted.

Igor Souto is one of the men who helped design the site and told KCTV5 that the presentation of their products and the charity are in good taste.

"If you check out our site, you will not find porn stuff or porn pics," said Souto. "When you see kids and sex toys, you relate it to bad stuff. (But) we believe in our cause and think it's noble. We're doing the right thing, helping these kids."

Souto said the company and its owner are doing something they believe in.

"He donates more than $1,500 each month to charity to adopt three children," said Souto. "So far, he's given more than $10,000, and that money pays for the children's schooling, so they can make a better life. We don't think it's inappropriate or immoral to help."

KCTV5 News spoke to area residents outside the Great Plains Mall to see what they thought about a sex site adopting children, and they had differing opinions.

"I think it's a marketing ploy, how they get customers and balance out their conscience. We give to charity so it's a good thing," said area resident Cindy MacNoul.

"Adult novelty stores are out there and people are going to shop there. Why not give back to charity. I think it's a good thing," said resident O'gara Gardner.

"I don't think so," said MacNoul. "It's not where our culture needs to go. We need to focus on the family."

The adopted children on the site are from India, Argentina and Gambia.

Despite the controversy, the company's owner said he plans on donating even more money and adopting more children as sales on his site grow.
