Crews Rescue, Resuscitate Cat From Fire

    POSTED: 9:49 pm CDT May 10, 2009
    UPDATED: 10:04 pm CDT May 10, 2009

Fire crews in Johnson County rescued a cat from an apartment blaze Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out at the six-unit building in the 8300 block of Santa Fe Lane in Overland Park about 4:30 p.m.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but crews had to rescue and resuscitate the cat that lived in the building.

Firefighters said someone left food cooking on a stove, and the flames quickly moved to the attic.

Crews said the cat is doing fine.
