Businesses Can No Longer Dictate Hair Length, Shoe Style

Patrons of the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City can expect a new dress code beginning Monday.

Businesses can no longer define the length of hair, clothes and shoes that customers wear, but they can still ban baggy clothes and require business attire.

The ordinance requires that the bars with those dress codes have to post signs spelling out exactly what isn't allowed.

The City Council voted unanimously in favor of the new dress code.
