Two workers at an airport cargo facility reported a suspicious package to police on Thursday.

The two workers said the package they handled at the Southwest Airlines cargo facility on Mexico City Avenue at Kansas City International Airport caused their hands to have a burning sensation.

The Kansas City Fire Department's hazardous materials crew was called to the scene.

Airport spokesman Joe McBride said the hazmat crew tested the contents of the package and determined that it was a type of glue.

The workers did not require any medical attention and returned to work Thursday afternoon.
