The Jackson County Sheriff's Department took two men into custody late Friday afternoon after a vehicle and foot chase that ended up at a home in Greenwood, authorities said.

Authorities surrounded a house in the 1900 block of Apache Court at about 4:30 p.m.

The men were wanted as possible suspects in a burglary at a Harrisonville gun store late Monday night, authorities said.

During the foot chase, authorities caught up to one of the men and took him into custody but the second man went into a house, authorities said.

A woman and three children were home at the time, but they came out of the house and weren't harmed, authorities said.

The man then peacefully surrendered at about 5:30 p.m., authorities said.

During the foot chase, a nearby resident came out of a home and fired a gun into the air in an apparent attempt to help police by either stopping or slowing down the foot chase, authorities said.
