KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Someone shot and killed a man late Tuesday afternoon in Kansas City, police said.

The shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the Belmont Plaza apartments on Belmont Boulevard near St. John Avenue.

The man was in a car in the back parking lot of the apartment complex when he was shot in the head, police said.

A man who identified himself as the victim's father said he was 18 years old.

Police were looking for as many as three people in connection with the shooting.
