Several metro families will have a better holiday season thanks to a 25-year tradition by a local church.

The Chapel Hill Congregation in Kansas City, Kan., got together Monday morning for the annual Red Bag Project.

Tractor-trailers delivered the bags full of clothes and toys to be sorted out.

Then nonprofit agencies will pick them up to give to needy families this year.

Last year, more than 1,600 families enjoyed goodies from the Red Bag Project.
