A vehicle two Black Friday shoppers shortly before 6 a.m. Friday outside a packed Wal-Mart on Tudor Road.

The parking lot was flooded with vehicles and shoppers trying to get deals on the day after Thanksgiving.

The shoppers, a man and a woman in their 30s, had left Wal-Mart and were crossing Tudor Road when they were hit, said Sgt. Mike Childs, of the Lee's Summit Police Department.

Both of the shoppers were taken a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was a 20-year-old man from Lee's Summit, Childs said.

Investigators were still trying to determine who was at fault, they said, but they knew that the pedestrians were not walking in a crosswalk.
