KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A man found shot to death in his running car Tuesday night was Kansas City area actor Peter Fopeano, the American Heartland Theater confirmed.

Fopeano, 43, of Kansas City, Mo., was the understudy for the role of Thurston in "A Tuna Christmas," which is playing now at the theater.

At the time of the shooting, a barber shop and a nearby grill were open for business nearby, police said. At least one other car in the parking lot had bullet holes in it.
