KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden stopped in Kansas City on Sunday.Jill Biden spoke at a rally at the Bishop McCann Event Firm in the Crossroads District.She talked to more than 200 volunteers with the Jackson County neighborhood Get Out The Vote program.Biden touched on the economy and Iraq and how their son was deployed to the region last week.
She also talked about education, something she described as her life's work and passion.Biden said, "We need to fix so much of it, and it needs to start with early childhood education, move through the high schools to fix and fund No Child Left Behind, get new teachers in, pay teachers more and then finally, at the college level, where I am, we need to make education affordable for the middle class, and Barack and Joe are going to do that by giving a $4,000 tuition tax credit to students."
