Fugitive Escaped Kansas City Halfway House

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- United States marshals and other federal and local law enforcement officers sought help from the public Friday finding a convict who escaped from a Kansas City halfway house.They were looking for James D. Wainwright, 55, according to a news release from Sgt. Craig Sarver, coordinator for the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers organization.Wainwright was under supervision at the halfway house after being convicted of fraud."Wainwright has a history of forgery, fraud, burglary, kidnapping, sexual assault and weapons violations and should be considered armed and dangerous," according to the news release.
Sarver encouraged anyone who had any information about Wainwright's whereabouts to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hot Line at 816-474-TIPS (8477), text TIP452 plus a message to CRIMES (274637) or submit a tip online at kccrimestoppers.com."A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest," according to the news release.
