KANSAS CITY -- Independence Police are investigating an early morning shooting.At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, a Kansas City Police sergeant was flagged down by two women near Truman Road and White Avenue. An Independence Police officer also stopped after noticing that the women were hysterical.The women brought the officers to a 40-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound, police said.Further investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the 10100 block of Golf Avenue in Independence, Mo.Investigators are speaking with a person of interest in the case.The name of the victim will be released once relatives have been notified.
