KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Funeral services for a Kansas City, Kan., officer killed in a car accident over the weekend were held Wednesday.

Mark Jaramillo was riding in an SUV with a fellow officer when it rolled down an embankment near interstates 70 and 435.

Jaramillo died at the scene.

Police said the man who was driving, Kyle Kovak, was so distraught over his friend's death he went home and took his own life.

The funeral for Jaramillo was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday morning.
