KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A person with a gun tried to rob a man Sunday as he was standing in his front yard with his dog, according to police.Shortly before 10 p.m., the man saw a sport utility vehicle pull up in front of his neighbor's house near West 58th and Central streets.A male of unknown age got out of the vehicle, walked up to him, demanded money and pointed a handgun at his face, according to police. The man told the person he didn't have any money, and the person made him pull out his pockets and show him, according to police. The person then told the man to walk to other way, which he did, and the person walked back to the SUV and got into the passenger seat. The SUV then pulled away and headed south on Central Street, according to police.Though she's lived in the Brookside neighborhood for 32 years without any problems, Susan Neff said she would be more careful as a result of the incident and watch out more for her neighbors. They'd already called each other to let each other know about the incident.Investigators hadn't yet made any arrests by Monday afternoon.
