UPDATED: 11:33 am CDT September 5, 2008

The search was on Friday morning for two armed men who robbed a Northland motel overnight, police said.

The men, who had their faces partially-covered with bandanas, stormed into the Extended Stay Inn off Northeast 43rd Street.

They bound the clerk with duct tape, snatched some money, then stole the motel's conversion van, police said.

The clerk managed to escape and call police.

The motel security cameras didn't work, so police didn't get any surveillance video of them, police said.

Investigators urged anyone with any information to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hot Line at 816-474-TIPS (8477), text TIP452 plus a message to CRIMES (274637) or submit a tip online at kccrimestoppers.com.
