The woman who admitted trying to steal a baby from a pregnant teenager will learn her sentence on Tuesday.

Lauren Gash, 20, pleaded guilty last month to kidnapping Amanda Howard and holding her against her will at a motel in Blue Springs.

Gash and her friend, Alisa Betts, were allegedly plotting to steal Howard's baby from her womb.

According to court documents, duct tape and rope were found in the motel room, along with a fake birth certificate.

Howard escaped unharmed. She later gave birth to a baby boy.

Bash faces 37 years in prison when she is sentenced at the hearing at the Jackson County Courthouse in Independence.

The defendant and the victim will have an opportunity to speak to the judge before he makes his decision.
