JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. -- The young mother found shot and killed over the weekend in Buckner has been identified.

Michelle Grush, 24, was found dead inside a house in Jackson County early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the home because of a disturbance. When officers arrived, Grush was already dead on the floor.

Grush's two young children were found nearby unharmed.

Officers took her boyfriend, 24-year-old John F. Beltz, into custody.

Neighbors said there had never been a disturbance at the house before, and called the arrest "mind blowing."

Beltz was charged with one count of murder in the second degree and one count of armed criminal action.

His bond is set at $500,000.
