Nearly 200 employees will lose their jobs on Aug. 24 when The Woodlands closes in Kansas City, Kan., but some of them may be able to find employment at The Legends at Village West.

The horse and dog track and the shopping center scheduled a job fair Friday morning and excused Woodlands employees from their work shifts so they could attend.

John Miller, a Washington High School student, worked as a dishwasher at the Woodlands and attended Friday's job fair.

"I was kind of disappointed when they said they were closing, so now I'm just trying to find another job," he said.

More than 100 jobs are available in the dozens of restaurants, retails stores and entertainment venues at The Legends.

The jobs are listed on The Legends Web site.
