KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The bomb squad was called to a scene in Kansas City, Kan., early Wednesday morning after a grenade was found near a house.Police said they were called to the home near Tennyson Street and Garfield Avenue hours earlier, after dozens of shots were fired into the home.Ezekiel Payne's nephew was shot in the stomach and his sister was shot in the arm. Both victims' injuries were non-life-threatening.Payne, who lives in the home, said his niece then told him she'd found a grenade on the porch on Monday. He went to look for it and found it in the parking lot of a nearby church.
The bomb squad was able to remove the bomb safely, police said.Police said they were investigating the gunshots and the grenade as separate incidents.Payne said he was convinced his family had to move."It was meant to kill somebody, but I don't know who," Payne said. "That's the bad part about all of it, I don't know who."
