A 40-year-old Grandview, Mo., man was arrested on accusations he videotaped the new Batman movie at a Lee’s Summit movie theater, police said.

Police were called to the Eastglen 16 Theater on 1451 N.E. Douglas Road around 9:30 p.m. Friday by movie theater employees.

They said they found evidence the man had illegally videotaped “The Dark Knight” starring Christian Bale, and they arrested him.

Hours later, Grandview police searched the suspect’s house on the 13400 block of Bristol Avenue and said they found other pirated movies on DVD.

According to court records, the suspect, Robert L. Henderson, met a woman at a Mexican restaurant on East 112th Street and Holmes Road in July 2002. Later that night, he drove her to Minor Park and attacked her sexually.

Prosecutors charged him with attempted forcible sodomy and attempted forcible rape. Henderson pleaded guilty and received 120 days of jail time and served three years probation. He is listed on the Missouri sex offender registry.

No one was at Henderson's home on Monday to comment.

Henderson was out of jail Monday. Lee's Summit police are investigating and said they planned to work with federal prosecutors to get federal charges filed against Henderson.

Motion Picture Association of America officials believe several other movies have been illegally videotaped at the Eastglen 16, they said, adding that it was rare to catch a suspect in the act.
