KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A pair of robbers bound some Westport employees with duct tape and emptied a club's safe of thousands of dollars. It happened at the Beaumont Club shortly before 4 p.m. Monday. The club was closed at the time, but the business office was open for the sale of concert tickets. One of the men had a pistol and demanded two ticket sellers to open a safe. The sellers were then bound with the tape.Besides bills, the robbers took a lot of rolled coins from the safe. Police hoped the robbers would try to cash in the coins for bills, and they urged anyone who witnesses something like that to call investigators. The ticket sellers were shaken but unharmed. They broke free of their bindings and ran out of the business as nearby patrol officers approached the club.
