Police have not yet released the name of the man and his son who were killed over the weekend in what neighbors called a freak accident.

Neighbors told police Edward C. Thomas, 66, and his son, Jacob A. Thomas, 27, were installing a ham radio antenna on the roof of a house near North 61st Terrace and Nogard Avenue Sunday afternoon when the antenna came in contact with a power line.

Both men were electrocuted.

Neighbors said Jacob Thomas' 7-year-old daughter witnessed the accident. She ran to a nearby house for help.

Edward Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacob Thomas died at the hospital a short time later.
