NTSB: Dual Engine Failure Led To Deadly Plane Crash
Dual engine failure led to a deadly plane crash near Tonganoxie, Kan., last month, according to a National Transportation Safety Board report issued Friday.Both men on the plane were killed.Murray Brown, 47, Kansas City, Kan., the chief pilot of the Central Airlines Aero Commander, and a pilot-in-training from Texas, James Jambor, 24, died in the crash.They were in a practice area to perform steep turns. Their altitude was already low, and the plane hit the ground at a 53-degree angle.The engines sputtered before going silent, witnesses said, then the plane crashed into an open field, leaving little but the tail fin.
