Little League Football Team's Equipment Stolen

A little league football team might have to sit on the bench this summer because someone stole $40,000 worth of their sports equipment.

The equipment, from helmets to shoulder pads and jerseys and pants to striping equipment for the fields, was all in a trailer that someone stole.

The Englewood Packers trailer had been parked at Englewood Park until about two weeks ago, when it disappeared.

Since then, team officials have called police and local equipment shops, hoping their gear might turn up somewhere, but they haven't been able to locate it.

About 140 kids play for the Packers.

Anyone with any information is urged to call police. Anyone who wants to donate to the team can do so through the Shoal Creek Branch of the Bank of Liberty. Donations can be made through the bank care of the Packers Football Club or by calling 816-781-4822 or Craig and Linda Wansing at 816-415-4339.
