INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Some parents and other relatives of Ruskin High School seniors were locked out of the graduation ceremony on Tuesday night.Dozens of people were barred from entering the R.L.D.S. Auditorium in Independence due to dress code and time violations. The rules for the ceremony stated that no one would be allowed to enter after 7:30 p.m., a strict dress code would be enforced and no one could re-enter the building after leaving.A 12-year-old boy was arrested after he keyed their police car, officers said.
A Hickman Mills school district spokesman said he understood the frustration the people who were locked out felt, but he said students were informed of the policy months ago.
