OLATHE, Kan. -- A man is accused of plotting to break into an elderly woman's home and kidnap her. But police said they caught the man before he could put his plan into motion.Johnson County sheriff's deputies said they got a tip that he was planning a home invasion at a Prairie Village woman's home.Deputies and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested him before the plan was actually put into action, they said."These are very serious charges," said Tom Erickson, with the Johnson County sheriff's office. "He's been in prison before for similar armed robbery-type, so once we find someone like that we need to act quickly and get him in custody and get him back off the streets."
William Larry Fletcher, 42, who is being held on $500,000 bond, will make his first court appearance at the Johnson County Courthouse in Olathe on Tuesday afternoon.Erickson said there is another suspect they believe was involved in the plan, but that man has not yet been charged.
