NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tens of thousands of customers lost power overnight when damaging storms barreled through the Kansas City metropolitan area.At 4:30 a.m., 40,150 Kansas City Power & Light customers and 12,302 Aquila customers had reported power outages.The majority of the KCP&L customers who lost power were in the Riverside, Mo., Gladstone, Mo., and North Kansas City, Mo., areas.Most of the affected Aquila customers were in the Liberty, Mo., Lee's Summit, Mo., and Platte City, Mo., area.
