'Idol' Contestant Could Bump Kids' Performance

The Kansas City Royals are giving some Raytown, Mo., students free tickets.

Twenty-five students at Southwood Elementary School had been scheduled to perform the national anthem at the May 9 Royals Game.

Many of the families bought tickets to the game, but they might not get to see their kids perform.

The choir might get bumped if "American Idol" finalist David Cook comes to town. Cook is from Blue Springs, Mo., and if he's not eliminated next week, he intends to come home for a visit. The Royals invited him to sing the anthem on the same day the class is scheduled to perform.

The Royals promised to reschedule the kids, refund parents' money and offer free tickets for the rescheduled performance.

The students won't know if they'll have to reschedule until Wednesday night's "Idol."
