First lady Laura Bush and her daughter Jenna Bush visited Kansas City Tuesday to promote their new book, "Read All About It!"

Tuesday morning, they read from their book to children from four schools at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village.

"It was pretty cool to see somebody like that," said Matt Schotte, a student who listened to the Bushes read. "It's the first time I've ever seen somebody that big."

The Bushes continued their book tour Tuesday night at Unity Temple on the Country Club Plaza. The event was sold out.

People lined the streets hours before the event, hoping for a glimpse of the president's family.

The two signed extra books that are now for sale at Rainy Day Books.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of their books benefit inner-city and rural schools across the country.
