GRANDVIEW, Mo. -- A Grandview school bus driver found a mother cat and five newborn kittens behind a panel inside a school bus that covered a heating system Tuesday.

They were taken to the Wayside Waifs animal shelter, where the kittens will grow and eventually be put into foster care until they are old enough to be adopted out.

Wayside Waifs already has more than 100 kittens in foster care, and some of them will be available for adoption at the end of the week.
