Breeder's Dogs Available For Adoption

MERRIAM, Kan. -- Nineteen of a breeder's dogs were being nursed back to health Saturday at the Animal Haven shelter in Merriam.The Highland, Kan., breeder turned over the dogs voluntarily, saying she could no longer run her operation.One of the dogs developed a skin condition that caused it to lose its hair. Another, a Yorkshire Terrier, has to have eye surgery before it can be adopted.Some of the dogs are already available for adoption.
Animal Haven is located at 9800 W. 67th St. The shelter's phone number is 913-432-7548. Adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
