Tent City Constructed For Flood Pets

PACIFIC, Mo. -- While residents pick up the pieces from the flooding in Missouri, one family is looking out for some of the most vulnerable victims.The owners of Pigg's Pets in Pacific, Mo., opened a tent city for displaced animals. They're housing everything from dogs and cats to ducks.Pigg family members said they're doing what they can to identify the animals and reunite them with their owners.Mike Pigg, owner of Pigg's Pets, said, "Of the 12 dogs that we're down to right now, 10 of the 12 have homes."
Several townspeople are helping out with donations of tarps and pet food. But more supplies are need, Pigg said.You can send to donations to Pigg's Pets, 1710 West Osage St., Pacific, Mo., 63069-1121.
