LENEXA, Kan. -- Lenexa police monitored craigslist.com and ended up arresting several men in a prostitution sting.CraigsList, a Web site created to list job opportunities and items to buy and sell, is also being used to advertise "erotic" services that police told KCTV5's Betsy Webster are nothing more than thinly veiled ads for prostitutes.Police used the site to arrest five men in two nights this week, officers said. The woman who answered the door at the Lenexa motel where police made the bust had placed an ad as an escort. The man who came to her door that night spoke with Webster after he was arrested."The problem is 10 years of marriage, is the problem," he said when asked why he took the risk. "We sleep in separate rooms, but we're still married for the kids. That's it."He said it was the Craigslist that brought him here. "I was looking for a car," he said.Sgt. Fred Farris, of the Lenexa Police Department, said, "We know we're not going to stop this behavior. Our goal in doing them and getting a bunch done is to discourage it from happening in Lenexa."Farris said they do operations like this several times each year. And he said they arrest just as many people during operations at higher-end hotels as they do at low-cost motels.
