GARDNER, Kan. -- Authorities were investigating the death of a 16-year-old Gardner boy as a homicide, Gardner police said in a news release on Tuesday.Dakota DeRemus "had some heart disease" and was involved in a fight with another person on Monday, the news release stated.Police initially called their investigation a death investigation but changed it to a homicide investigation after a medical examiner conducted an autopsy on Tuesday, according to the news release.They'd identified a person of interest -- a minor -- and took that person of interest into custody.
